Six Acres brings European ambiance and cocktails, wines, whiskeys and beers from around the world to the historic Gastown area. In a neighborhood that is rapidly gentrifying, Six Acres’ classic aesthetic fits the neighborhood perfectly and provides an affordable and rustic yet classy drinking and dining experience. Surrounded by captivating low rise architecture and original brick roads - you can’t help but feel as if you are in Amsterdam.
The pub’s atmosphere is accented by a rich wood interior, heavy wooden tables, and vaulted ceilings. Large bay windows overlook its intimate yet comfortable patio and the statue of Gastown’s first settler, Gassy Jack.
With a heavy emphasis on imports and micro brewery selections, you can choose from over 34 bottled titles. While sipping a Czech tall boy, its not uncommon for locals to ask to join your table or strike up a worldly conversation. Unlike many of Vancouver’s other watering holes, the clientèle at Six Acres is as diverse as the micro-brew beers on the menu.
To soak up the alcohol, there are tasty menu items that pair well with your beverage of choice. Whether salads, tapas, quesadillas or simple snacks, menu items are filling and well priced. Our recommendations include: “Magic Carpet” which consists of baba ghanoush, macedonian feta, olives, dolmades, pistachios & lemon thyme dressed cucumber with sangak (persian flat bread) for $12.25 and The “E.U.” a plate of triple cream brie and assorted olives & pickles served with rustic baguette. If you prefer a more simple approach to snacking, the nachos and lunch time sandwiches are great as well.
Six Acres is located at 219 Carrall Street, Vancouver, BC.
