Ilkka Halso: Museum Of Nature

January 15, 2008

For global warming to be accepted as both a serious issue and reality, it took the Arctic and Antartic icecaps to start melting at a rapid rate, glacial retraction, extreme weather patterns, rapid spreading of tropical disease, and unexplainable shifts in agriculture.

Sadly, despite millions in corporate investment for green technologies, six of the world’s largest polluters (Australia, China, India, Japan, South Korea and the United States) will all be dependent on fossil fuels for years to come.

Finnish artist Ilkka Halso portrays a futuristic world where nature, no longer capable of serving its natural purpose, functions as nothing more than an amusement attraction.

It’s just plain depressing to see our natural resources dwindle and be reduced to nothing more than a novelty.

even though its a sad fact (if it becomes a truth) this is beautiful. i like this because it makes a visual impact on what we really need to do to conserve earth.

Man made global warming is a scam to push forward a global tax on Carbon. CO2 is only 3 percent of the total collection of Green house gases in the atmosphere. H2O is actually the most important green house gas in the form of water vapor. This is why you see giant clouds in the atmosphere. Our contribution to the CO2 is also minimal, and in the last century MOST of the warming recored has been before the industrial revolution. During the first 4 decades of our industrialization there was actually a stagnation of temperature, and only recently it has begun to rise.

CO2 is correlated with temperature rise but it does not cause the warming. In fact the ice core data shows that the CO2 rise normally happens about 400 to 800 years AFTER the warming.

Long story short. The sun and cycles of Solar radiation are directly linked to global temperature. Look it up.

HOWEVER, pollution and the destruction of nature is a huge issue. Keep up the cool distopian artwork. I love it!

Global warming. Hahhahaha! It’s been a great joke. Hah! Unfortunately some moron that believes will try to cool off the planet, will probably freeze us all to death, and then the picture of the trees in the hothouse will come true!

For those of you who think global warming is a “joke”, wouldn’t you rather err on the side of caution, and possibly give the scientific evidence the benefit of doubt? Or would you rather your kids and grandkids try to live in world that we handed them, without any thought of the hardship we may be creating for them?

wow some people just don’t want to believe that all of the things we have done to this earth has actually effected it. how dumb can you be. perhaps it may not happen exactly as they say it will but we are destroying our environment weather you want to believe it or not!
