Vibrators and Rap Battles

June 17, 2008

Publishing long and descriptive blog posts is a waste of time. People who read the web are lazy bastard “informavores” solely after the “low hanging fruit”. If not intrigued within a split second, they’ll click off of your page. Think bulleted lists, short sentence fragments, loads of links and explanatory subheads.

Does North America even innovate anymore? “Japan’s current wacky products and trends, such as butler bars for neglected housewives and themed spas that treat bathers like ramen-noodle soup ingredients”, are way cool. I find shower-washable suits and Kool Boost (a cigarette that allows smokers to customize the level of menthol they prefer by squeezing the filter) to be the most interesting.

Today, Nintendo announced that it would be selling a new video game called “Pop Cutie!” available for play on the DS console. Apparently, it’s a “Street Fashion Simulation” in which players cruise the virtual streets of New York, Paris and Tokyo picking out their favorite fashion “trends”. If you live in Vancouver and are a fan of street style, be sure to purchase yourself a copy. It’ll be way more interesting than The Commodified.

If the tabling of Bill C-61 (the new copyright legislation that will turn you and the average Canadian internet user into a criminal) in the Canadian Parliament without public/political consent pisses you off, here’s a list of great talking points that you can discuss with your MP.

There is something about Hillary Clinton street art appearing beside Barack Obama street art that seems so contrived. In our opinion, it’s unlikely that a wheatpasted image of a forbearing Clinton sporting an Obama ‘08 cap will enhance her street credibility.

The sleazy hipster dudes that work at American Apparel will no longer just be helping your daughter select the right colored t-shirt, they’ll be offering vibrator advice as well.

Do you often find yourself drunk, hungry and lurking the streets of Vancouver at 4am? You need some neon orange chicken wings from the super top secret Korean spot.

To conclude, check this rap battle from back in ‘03. Both Lord Finesse and Percee P bring it on this one.
